2-mile Ocean race between the Piers at Wrightsville Beach, NC
The Pier-2-Pier Swim Race is an annual open water ocean swim race at beautiful Wrightsville Beach, NC, and is hosted by the CAPE FEAR AQUATICS CLUB and the Wilmington Family YMCA.
Race Date is: Saturday, September 13th
2014 will be our 10th Year for this event!
The race course is ~ 2 miles between the Johnny Mercer and Crystal Piers
(1.71 miles along the beach, plus the swim to and from the "dry" finish and start lines).
Competition is open to all swimmers 11yrs old and up.
Parking will return to Wrightsville Beach Park for 2014

2008 & 2009 Pier-2-Pier Winners have Top 10 showing at FINA Open Water World Championships
2009 Pier-2-Pier winner Joe Kinderwater finished 7th in the 25K race at the 2010 FINA Open Water Championships in Quebec. Read about it at usaswimming.org. Earlier in the week, 2008 winnerChip Peterson swam to a 7th place finish in the 10K race. See all results here.
